The Honda Prelude Returns for 2026

Honda

That's right, the rumors are true: the Honda Prelude is officially coming back. The iconic '90s sports coupe is being resurrected for 2026 and Honda dropped all the details.

The 2026 Honda Prelude will feature a two-motor hybrid-electric system paired with a 2.0-liter engine. Honda says the system will produce 200 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque.

The coupe will debut "Honda S+ Shift," a drive mode that uses paddle shifters to simulate gear shifts, including rev-matched downshifts, to enhance driver engagement.

The Prelude will use high-performance chassis components from the Civic Type R, including its dual-axis strut front suspension, adaptive dampers and Brembo brakes.

The design is a low-slung sports coupe with a "double-bubble" roof and wide fenders. It will come standard with 19-inch black wheels.

Honda announced the 2026 Prelude is scheduled to arrive at U.S. dealerships in late fall 2025.
