8 of Jeff Goldblum's Best Roles

Eccentric, kind, and an incredible talent, Jeff Goldblum is one of the rare Hollywood actors we don't deserve. His career has spanned decades, and he can be seen in some of the most iconic movies ever made.

Grandmaster

Marvel Cinematic Universe

Jeff Goldblum has a knack for taking relatively minor roles and stealing the show. Nowhere is this more apparent in the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he appears multiple times in Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy films. He's only on screen for a few minutes, but his quirky charisma always leaves the audience wanting more.

Continuing the tradition of playing the, “scientist with a warning,” Jeff Goldblum steps into the role alongside budding superstar Will Smith in Independence Day. Showing his range, Goldblum played this character as much less charismatic but just as lovable.

Deputy Kovacs

Grand Budapest Hotel

There might not be a better actor/director match, in terms of quirky style, than Jeff Goldblum and Wes Anderson. This beautiful marriage of talent was put on full display in Grand Budapest Hotel. Jeff Goldblum plays Deputy Kovacs, the executor of the widow's estate. His excellent performance allows us to really question the circumstances of her death, and to be affected by his own untimely demise,

Duke

Isle of Dogs

Isle Of Dogs is another team-up between Goldblum and Anderson, and one that we can all be thankful for. This time, however, Goldblum voices an animated dog named Duke, who loves to spread gossip and eat sweets. As always, Jeff Goldblum finds his way into the audiences hearts with this role.

New Jersey, The Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai

This is probably one of Goldblum‘s weirdest roles, but also one of the most fun. He plays a cowboy and neurosurgeon from New Jersey, named New Jersey. And while he is highly intelligent, he’s also surprisingly inept. This is one of the most fun movies of Goldblum's career and if you haven’t seen this 1984 cult classic, it's highly recommended.

Invasion of The Body Snatchers

In comparison to many of his other roles, Goldblum plays a relatively small one in this movie. But, this 1978 sci-fi classic is arguably the one that put him on the map. He plays a neurotic writer in the middle of an alien invasion where the aliens are taking over human bodies.
