Jeep has officially unveiled the 2026 Recon, the brand’s first global all-electric vehicle designed from the ground up to be Trail Rated.

The headline feature of the 2026 Recon isn't just its electric powertrain—it's that it remains a true Jeep. It is the industry's first fully electric Trail Rated SUV, boasting a spec sheet designed to silence EV skeptics:
Power: 650 horsepower and 620 lb.-ft. of instant torque.
Speed: 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.
Off-Road Hardware: The "Moab" trim features 33-inch tires, 9.4 inches of ground clearance, and an electronic locking rear differential.
Selec-Terrain: Includes a specific "Rock Mode" for crawling, allowing for precise one-pedal driving over technical obstacles.
Jeep knows its audience loves the wind in their hair. The Recon is currently the only EV on the market with removable doors and glass. Even better, the design is tool-free, allowing drivers to strip the vehicle down for the full open-air experience in minutes. The frunk is specifically sized to hold a carry-on suitcase, adding practical storage to the fun.
Inside, the Recon balances rugged utility with high-end tech. It features the largest screen real estate in Jeep history—over 26 inches of display—powered by the Uconnect 5 system.
Navigation: The new Trails Offroad app comes pre-loaded, offering guides to thousands of trails across the U.S. and Canada.
Design: The interior includes thoughtful touches like a "pass-through" center console for gear and sustainable materials throughout the cabin.
Production for the 2026 Jeep Recon is set to begin early next year at the Toluca Assembly Plant. It will launch first in the U.S. and Canada before expanding globally. With an estimated range of 250 miles and fast-charging capabilities, it aims to be the ultimate vehicle for silent, emissions-free exploration.
