We live in an era where TV studios love to produce a good reboot. They tend to carry less risk and have a built-in audience with fans of the old show. But some shows make for better reboots better than others.
Here are the best TV reboots, in our opinion.

Continuing the rich tradition of the original, this Emmy-winning reboot sees recently-widowed D.J. Tanner filling her house to raise 3 sons. Full of nostalgia, comedy, and emotion, this show is definitely worth a watch.

Following the daughter of Donna and Eric from That 70's Show, the show brings audiences back into the home of Red and Kitty Foreman, where she's staying for the summer. It has all of the staples of the original show and frequent appearances from the original cast. The decade is different, but the vibes are the same.

Most reboots don't make it nearly as long as Hawaii 5-0 did. But the show's staying power can be attributed to its strong cast and solid writing. It was the appropriate mix of comedy, action, and drama for a show of its kind. If you like cop shows, you'll definitely like Hawaii 5-0.

Unlike the series we've mentioned so far, the modern Macgyver felt like a fresh take on the franchise. The way Macgyver improvised was more science and engineering-based than the original, often explaining the logic behind his decisions in voiceover. If you're a fellow nerd, you'll find yourself Googling while watching the show to see if his tricks would actually work. In an era where network television shows mostly play it safe, Macgyver is appreciated for daring to be different.

You know you have a phenomenal ensemble cast when the main character can be excluded from the reboot. After making racist tweets, Roseanne Barr was removed from the Roseanne reboot, but the rest of the cast returned anyway. In spite of that, the show went strong for six additional seasons. The last of which should air in 2025. That continuation is a testament to the writing, and cast.

When shows like this come out, you worry that they might just be a lazy attempt to profit from nostalgia. But the reviews are in, and this show is a hit. With enough nostalgia for fans of the original and enough substance for those new to the franchise, there's something here for everyone.

This show felt timeless when it came out, and it still feels timeless now. Most of the original cast is still here, and it's still as sharp with its satire as it's ever been. It feels like it never left and, narratively, they leaned into that. The show starts with Professor Farnsworth rebooting the universe after time has been frozen for several years. That's platinum-level plot armor.

If ever there was a reboot that felt like it picked up right where it left off, it was Will and Grace. Having the show back felt like it had never left us. If you loved the cast, its quippy humor, and irreverence; you'll love the reboot as much as you loved the original.
