DALLAS — Dallas Cowboys defensive back Markquese Bell was arrested on Friday and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, according to Collin County jail records.
The arrest was made by Prosper police. Bell remained in jail as of Saturday morning, according to the county’s jail database.
The Cowboys declined to comment on Saturday morning.
The charge for possession of a controlled substance is a felony level charge. The charge for possession of marijuana was listed as a misdemeanor.
Bell, 27, is an undrafted free agent out of Florida A&M who has spent the last four seasons with the Cowboys. He’s played in 48 career games, mostly on special teams, though he has made 11 career starts.
The Cowboys gave Bell a three-year extension worth up to $12 million last offseason.
